Yoga teachers should not be without this comprehensive book.
Used appropriately it can work preventatively for the long-term health of the back (as was shown in our research trial), whilst also positively addressing the health of the whole body and the mind.
Contains over 50 photographs; extensive information about how to perform the yoga; observations to be aware of once in each pose; and variations and benefits of each pose.
This book was designed for use as an educational aid (funded by Arthritis Research UK) alongside The University of York 2011 research trial’s ‘Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs’ courses enabling yoga students to practise yoga effectively at home. Only edited in a minor way to remain as true documentary evidence of exactly what yoga was done in the trial.
Ideally used as an adjunct to a 12-week course taught by a qualified teacher.
